RCA Associates, Inc. is now offering hydroseeding and erosion control to its services for its clients!
What is Hydroseeding?
Hydroseeding is a planting process that uses a slurry of seed and mulch. It is often used as an erosion control technique on construction sites. It it used as an alternative to the traditional process of broadcasting or sowing dry seed. When planting a relatively large area, Hydroseeding only takes a short period of time. Therefore, it is very effective for hillsides and sloping lawns to help with erosion control and quick planting. Hydroseeding typically cost less than manually sowing seeds, but more than broadcast seeding.
What is Erosion Control?
Erosion control is the practice of preventing or controlling wind or water erosion in agriculture, land development, and more. Erosion control helps handles surface runoff. Additionally, it is an important technique in preventing water pollution, soil loss, wildlife habitat loss and human property loss. Furthermore, erosion control is often required as mitigation as part of implementing Best Management Practices during ground disturbance or construction.
