RCA Associates, Inc. is now offering hydroseeding and erosion control to its services for its clients!
Hydroseeding (or hydraulic mulch seeding, hydro-mulching, hydraseeding) is a planting process that uses a slurry of seed and mulch. It is often used as an erosion control technique on construction sites, as an alternative to the traditional process of broadcasting or sowing dry seed. When planting a relatively large area, Hydroseeding can be completed in a very short period of time, and is very effective for hillsides and sloping lawns to help with erosion control and quick planting. Hydroseeding typically cost less than manually sowing seeds, but more than broadcast seeding.
Erosion control is the practice of preventing or controlling wind or water erosion in agriculture, land development, coastal areas, river banks and construction. Effective erosion controls handle surface runoff and is an important technique in preventing water pollution, soil loss, wildlife habitat loss and human property loss. Erosion control is often required as mitigation by City’s and County’s as part of implementing Best Management Practices (BMP’s) during ground disturbance or construction to facilitate with soil stabilization and dust control.
